fraser Island (before it was popular)

I had relatives that lived in Hervey bay, so we did a few trips up there to visit. These mostly included a trip over to Fraser Island.

Oh for the good old days, there was no worksafe back then, my cousin's old Land rover was full of rust and has Aircraft tyres fitted for the sand.

Now with a Licence (Suzuki Days) mid to late 70's

Not long after getting my licence I bought a little Suzuki, which served me well for a few years and took me to some amazing places.

A group of friends (all with Suzuki's) did a trip to Cowombat Flat on the headwaters of the Murray. I will always remember the spectacular sight at dusk, of the wild stallion entering the flat so see if it was safe to bring his herd of brumbies out to graze.

The Suzuki's were pretty good, on the deep water crossings we would remove the rubber bungs in the floor, so it would fill with water to stop it floating
