The Early Years (mid to late 60's)

A young me at Wilsons Promotory

Trips away started with a trip or two to Wilsons Promontory and the High Country but they were always an epic journey, in dad's old  short wheel base series 1 rag top Land rover. Trips away were long, slow, and if the cold didn't get you, the fumes from the old Land rover would.

One memorable trip was to Wingan Inlet (East Gippsland) when we broke a rear axle in the old Land rover. To get out mum and I had to sit on the bonnet to gain traction as we only had front wheel drive climbing the hills.

In the early years not a lot of photos were taken unfortunately, We are lucky to now live in the digital age where you can take lots of shots and cost you nothing.
